How Divorce Affects Kids

A recent study on the children of divorce has revealed some surprises for parents across the nation. Children who are the products of “good divorce” may not grow up to be adults that are any happier or healthier than the children of more acrimonious and bitter divorces.
The term “good divorce” was made popular by a book called “The Good Divorce,” published in the 1990s by a sociology professor. The idea of a “good divorce,” one in which divorced parents are able to cooperate, co-parent and raise their children without too many bitter feelings, has been an ideal for parents considering a divorce.
